We are considering applying for the currently open call for translations for the European Parliament. The tender foresees a test translation, which will take place on Monday, 17 June 2024, from 10:00 to 11:15. The test will be carried out in an online tool, via a browser.
The text for the test is not specific to European Parliament, it will be a general text on the field of activity of the European Union of around 250 words (e.g. a news on the adoption of new rules for the protection of personal data), so specific knowledge of translating texts for the European Parliament is not necessary.
It is however important that the text is well translated.
In our opinion, this is a test that can be done by any quality translator. At the beginning of June we will organise an online meeting where we will discuss in detail the instructions and tips for the test.
We are prepared to pay a fixed fee for the participation at the test, plus a bonus for passing the test.
If you are interested in taking part, please let us know providing the following information:
- Are you willing to participate in the test;
- Whether you would also be interested in working on a project, in case we are sussessful at the call for proposals (many pages are expected throughout the year and a regular workflow);
- What is your best rate per translation for a 250-word page (please note that we need to be very competitive);
- Your training and experience.

Razmišljamo o prijavi na trenutno odprti razpis za prevajanje za Evropski parlament. Del razpisa je test prevajalske ekipe, ki bo v ponedeljek, 17. junija 2024, od 10h do 11.15h. Test bo izveden v spletnem orodju, dostop je možen prek brskalnika.
Besedilo za test ni specifično za Evropski parlament, prevesti je treba splošno besedilo s področja delovanja Evropske unije v dolžini okoli 250 besed (npr. novica o sprejetju novih pravil za varovanje osebnih podatkov), zato posebno znanje o prevajanju besedil za Evropski parlament ni potrebno. Pomembno je samo, da je besedilo dobro prevedeno. Po naši oceni gre za test, ki ga lahko naredi vsak kakovosten prevajalec. V začetku junija bomo organizirali spletni sestanek, kjer bomo podrobneje predstavili navodila in nasvete za test.
Za test smo pripravljeni plačati fiksno nadomestilo za udeležbo in dodatno še bonus za uspešno opravljen test.
