We are looking for people in Luxembourg who can make a series of short audio recordings using our app Appen Mobile.
Project Description:
The task consists of a total of 435 short sentences that you need to read on a screen and say out loud using the Appen mobile app. You just have to follow the sentences written, you don't have to form your own sentences.
- An example of a sentence to read: "Okay Alexa, I need directions to work"
Task Duration: Each sentence lasts an average of 3 to 6 seconds. You should plan a total of 2 hours for the 435 recordings.
Of course, we encourage you to take breaks. We give you at least 7 days to record all sentences.

There is a great opportunity to work with Google for 6 to 8 weeks.
Since the client cares most about this project, they decided that they want to have direct access to the users where they train them, monitor their work and do their payments too.
The client needs 70 native users per language where each user is required to work for a minimum of 30 hours/week.
The scope of work is that the users will find written paragraphs where they will be asked to rate, categorize them and maybe rewrite some parts of them according to guidelines that will be provided.
**We now have 26 languages to start with, and we want to start immediately by Friday, 5th of May. So you need to apply as soon as possible to get a spot.

• About the content: The content comprises of actual Facebook posts that cover a diversity of topics with specialized terminology or jargon, and sometimes they do not have a very clear context. The language of the posts can be colloquial/very informal, with telegraphic style, the translation of which is aimed at enabling multilingual classifiers (identifying hate speech, for example) to eliminate such instances. This means that the linguists have to be okay with this style of language (there is also the option to reject posts, in case they are too sensitive). Samples would be provided for your review.
• Tool: The translation project is to be performed in Memsource/Symfonie.
• VOLUMES: We don’t have the information on this yet, but based on previous language pairs, the client will most probably be sending about 2000 posts via Symfonie. On average, a post has around 13 words.
• TASKS: The tasks will mainly require translation-only services.

PRESTO Translation Centre is currently looking for experienced freelance translators from English and French into German, from German and French into English and from German and English into French for long term cooperation – translations in the legal field.
In the past 10 years PRESTO has been holding two of the main translation contracts for the European Parliament. As an acknowledged and longstanding partner of the EP and several other European bodies we therefore aim at offering our experience even further.
We are looking for native-speaking translators who have previous experience with translating documents for the European Union and other international institutions.
The minimum level of qualification is the following:
1) have a university degree or equivalent qualification in law (or a qualification giving access to employment as an advocate, barrister or solicitor)
or
2) have a university degree or equivalent qualification in translation or languages
The translation experience in relevant language combination must be equivalent to at least 2 000 standard pages in the legal field (one year’s full time work as in-house translator in equivalent to 1 000 standard pages).
The translator must prove his/her translation experience with REFERENCE LETTERS or CERTIFICATES which must clearly indicate the volume of work done, the language combination concerned, the field of translation and the person involved and must be signed (by a third party).
