Details of the project: Our Christian ministry has evangelical Gospel literature translated into languages across the world.
We are currently trying to get the literature translated into Urdu. We are in need of translators with experience in "Sight translating" or "Back Translating."
We are presently working on some Urdu translations of Gospel newsletters, and we need some assistance with the editing work.
This phase of the editing process involves a verbal back-translation from Urdu into English. The purpose here is to find out from the average reader, the message that is being relayed in the translated Urdu text, to make sure it is the same as the message in the original English text.
Special requirements to the applicants: Someone with experience in verbal translating, for instance, court work, telephone, consecutive, etc.

Provide native language and media skills to support engagement of regional stakeholders, thought and opinion leaders, and regional media. The Cultural Advisor will facilitate dialogue and interaction with local and regional stakeholders, and will act as liaison for the client.
Conduct weekly conference calls with the client or appointed representative to coordinate guidance on engagement strategies.
Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders, thought and opinion leaders and media for client interface in region.
As required, escort client to meetings and interviews with local and regional stakeholders and media.
As required, prepare client with talking points and information papers on subject matter, personalities, and other relevant information.
Coordinate engagement activities with appropriate U.S. Country Teams in the region.
Foreign Language:
Provide fluency, verbal and in writing, in Dari / Pashtu / Urdu: DLPT equivalent 3/3 acceptable, 4/4 preferred. Successful candidates will also possess strong English writing skills.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in academia, journalism, or strategic communications. At least two years experience planning and executing grassroots organizing or marketing strategies in social media environments. Years spent in post-graduate education can be applied against this five-year requirement.
Minimum Education:
BA or BS degree from any accredited college or university or a certification in information technology.
Travel: Some travel may be required.

Details of the project: Our client has an Urgent media translation job that may require several translators of various South Asian languages.
The languages include Thai, Bengali, Malay, and Urdu and should be translated for captioning in English.
There are 50 videos in total to be translated, each between 30 seconds to 1 minute in length with approximately 10 printed words on each.
