My translating/interpreting experience goes back to 1980 when I began working for the US Armed Forces in Panama until they departed in 1999. I've remained in constant exposure to the English language/translation duties in my jobs thereafter. I've been working for the Canadian Government in Panama since 2005 at the Canadian Embassy. I hold a translator’s degree after attending a 'Diplomado de Traduccion' at Universidad Latina de Panama, and possess a Certified Public Translator’s License, (English-Spanish-English), issued by the Ministry of Education of Panama. I'm experienced in translating a wide range of documents to include: birth/death/marriage certificates, police records, vehicle proprietorship certificates, insurance policies, company manuals, HACCP manuals, public deeds, contracts, etc. Currently, I perform translations for several clients, i.e., Trump Ocean Club Hotel, Fast Medic,S.A., (import of medical technology), and others. I’m an outside contractor for Wohl Communications, Inc. Within my plans, I plan to become an examiner for prospective certified translators. Currently, I am a member of the Panamanian Association of Translators and Interpreters (APTI, in Spanish) and the International Federation of Translators, an international organization.
