Hi there,
my name is Serena Alagna and I’m an Italian translator. I have a Master degree in Specialized Translation at the School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators in Forlì, University of Bologna. My work languages are Russian and English, but I owe a good knowledge of French, too. During my studies at the university I’ve deepened my skills in translating technical text, especially in the economical, juridical and scientific fields, but at the same time I proved a good predisposition in translating narrative and journalistic texts.
I’ve done an internship in Translation at the translation agency CTI in Milan, where my occupation concerned mainly the translation and the review of economical and juridical texts. I’ve deepened also my knowledge of CAT programs for assisted translation like Trados and Multiterm; I owe my own license for these programs.
In the last months I’ve worked as translator for the NGO CESIE in Palermo, where my main tasks concerned the translation and review of texts and handbook in the field of sociological projects funded by the EU, as well as the simultaneous translation during these projects.
