Matjaz Praprotnik
German to Slovene Translator

Profile registered on 25 Nov 2013
Profile last updated on 15 Sep 2017

I am a native speaker of Slovene.

My minimum rate is 0.05 Euro per source word.

But I prefer to work at 0.08 Euro per source word.

And my minimum charge per document is 10 Euro.

I have obtained an official translator / linguist degree.

I have been working as a translator since 2012.

I provide the following services: Translation, Proofreading, Teaching (Language Courses).

By today, I have translated about 10,000 to 50,000 words.

I use the following tools: Wordfast, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

I am best in the following fields: Ecology & Environment, Engineering (General), General, Industry and Technology (General), Music, Photography / Graphic Arts, Science (General), Transportation / Shipping, Travel & Tourism.

I am not a sworn translator.

I am available for work Full week, Monday through Friday.

I can't provide you with references, sorry...

The following keywords are related to my services: translation, English, German, Slovene, Slovenian, technical, general, philosophy, business, user manuals, web pages, reports, promotion, guitar, music, jazz, art, literature, hiking, environment, mountains, photography, cooking

I am a young, up-and-coming translator. Slovene is and remains my mother language, although I currently reside in Finland due to linguistic and love reasons. Now I am striving to build up a reputation of a freelance translator and gradually but steadily gain more hard-earned experience.

I graduated from the University of Maribor, Slovenia, and thus hold a degree in translation studies for the languages English, German and Slovene. I have been trying to enter the world of professional translators ever since. Professionally I have already translated several user manuals, business letters, web pages, error or malfunction reports, promotional material, thesis summaries and philosophical articles. My Slovene translation of the article Advertising and the End of the World has been published on

As a hobby, several things kept me busy throughout my life, but the important ones that seem to follow me no matter what are: guitar, music, photography, books, hiking and the affection for the environment, mountains in particular. I would dare say that I am familiar enough with any of these to be able to add them to my fields of expertise.
