I translate from Italian to English and French to English (both UK and US localisation). I was born in the UK (native language: English). I was brought up in a multilingual household speaking Italian and French. Due to my parents' employment at the foreign office, I grew up in Italian-, French- and English-speaking countries. I completed my schooling in the French system of education, and the first year of a bachelor's degree in Economics with French. I later completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Economics, Master of Science in Economics and a PhD in Operations Research and Economics at Imperial College, London. I started working with languages in 1989, teaching English as a foreign language (I am TEFL certified); then I worked as a linguist with the Italian national radio and television network (R.A.I.) and with a professor at the University of Rome La Sapienza. I have worked as a translator and English teacher intermittently since 1992, interspersed with periods of education and working as an academic researcher and tutor. Most recently, I worked as an English teacher since 2004, and as a translator since 2008. I am very computer literate (I have completed several training courses in computer programming); I use Trados 2017, Wordfast. I can also use Deja Vu, Memoq and Fluency. I completed SDL training courses in Multiterm, and Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced courses in Trados 2014 and 2015. I am currently studying to be a certified translator. I am a freelance translator and CEO at AZ Translations Inc. I specialise in translating finance and corporate documents (e.g. financial statements), technical manuals, legal contracts, and medical files, including ethics committee applications letters and documents related to pharmaceuticals and medical devices. I also have a thorough grasp of many aspects of computing as I completed programming courses in both Italian (Region of Lazio) and English (Imperial College).
