I am not a professional linguistic but a Xhosa speaking individual who is passionate about my language and culture. I work in the health care industry and have helped in the proofreading and translation of Healthcare questionnaires and documents. I was asked because I could speak the language and not on professional capacity. I have interpreted for many patients who can't understand English and medical terms. Since I work in the department, no payment was given. I was paid recently by an American company that I helped with translating and proofreading of their Healthcare questionnaire for Xhosa speaking individuals. I was recommended by the HOD of my department to assist with the Healthcare questionnaire translation. That is why it might be difficult to get the reference.
