I have been living in the United States since 2000 but within the past ten years I have lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for four years. I was born and raised in Brazil, where I lived until my early 30's.

I am a professional English-Portuguese translator, copy-editor and proofreader working with projects for the US Defense Department, Tribune Company and Viking River Cruises, among others. I keep up to date with the culture of my homeland visiting Brazil once a year for periods of two months to take grammar courses and writing classes.
