Hello, all!

My name is Rocco B. and I have been studying Chinese (Mandarin) for 4 years now. I currently reside in New York City, and have had extensive interaction with both the language and community in which it is spoken. Whether it be with my Chinese friends in Flushing, living abroad with a home-stay family in Beijing and Shanghai for a month this past summer, or volunteering at the health clinic in Chinatown, I feel a deep excitement and vested interest in Chinese. Besides assisting elderly Mandarin speakers fill out paper work and receive medication at the health clinic, I've also had experience in conducting extensive face-to-face interviews with Chinese speakers at the clinic. I served as an assistant to a New York University medical graduate school student in helping carrying out interviews assessing the clients' knowledge, medical history, and risk with regards to oral cancer.

Nonetheless, I hope to help all of you here with proof-reading English texts (my native tongue) and translating texts from Chinese to English, or vice-versa.
