Details of the project: We are currently creating our stand-alone Linguistic Services department, and we are looking for some experienced freelance medical / clinical / legal (in medical area) / patent (medical devices) linguists who would like to join us for a long-term collaboration.
If interested, could you please kindly gather the following and send back to us - it would be much appreciated:
• Your CV and the following information:
- Language combinations / directions you offer
- Number of years’ experience in translating
- How many years / volumes pertaining to the Clinical / Medical / Patent area and what document types you handle
- Approximate percentage of what medical / patent / legal translations constitute in your overall volumes
- Experience in MTPE and Track Changes
• Your rate information, following the structure below, in your bank currency.
We shall be paying out of our US entity and offer USD or EUR [we also offer CAD and GBP should your bank be based in Canada or the UK].
- Translation rates: Per EN word rate
- MTPE: 70% of standard TR rate
- Editing rates: Per EN word rate (or hourly)
- Proofreading rates: Per EN word rate (or hourly)
- Hourly rate
- Minimum rate (for job less than 1 hour; usually set at half the hourly rate, please confirm if this works for you)
(For ZH/KO/JA/TH>EN, if you want the cost to be calculated by per source character, please provide per-
ZH / KO / JA / TH-character rates)
• An idea of your weekly availability (volume capacity in word-count/hours per week)
• Your experience with the CAT tool WordBee (if none, please confirm your interest / comfort in learning if provided with the necessary training, given this will be the main CAT tool used.)
• Payment can only be made via wire/bank transfer under your own or a company’s name, please confirm if it works for you
