Details of the project: We are Lingüistica International, an interpreting agency
working with 350+ languages assisting the Non-English
speaker communities by providing interpreting services
to Medical, Legal, or Social Service providers.
We extend a warm welcome to you as one of our
esteemed freelance translators. Upon application, you'll
receive a short translation sample for evaluation.
Position Overview:
This dynamic role operates on an on-call basis, and we
sincerely appreciate your flexibility. The pay rate for
Translation is $0.05 USD per word and $2 USD per
format. This position
offers the flexibility you need to work on your own time,
earn extra cash, and is a great way to help your
community! Interpreters are called to cover
appointments as needed, as
independent contractors.
Upon receiving a translation assignment for your
language pair, we will contact you to confirm your
availability. Should you accept the task, we kindly
request adherence to the
following guidelines:
Translations Due Date:
Please adhere to the specified delivery timeframe,
typically ranging from 2 to 4 days, depending on the
client's requirements. Completed documents should be
submitted via email.
Communication Protocol:
Should you encounter any circumstances preventing
timely completion of a translation, such as illness,
please notify the translation coordinator immediately.
This allows us to
promptly reassign the task to another translator.
Standard Translation Practices:
Certain elements such as addresses, URLs, and
currency symbols need not be translated unless
explicitly requested.
Exceptional attention to grammar, spelling, and the
ability to maintain document design integrity in the
target language is expected.
Familiarity with translation tools like InDesign is
advantageous.
Word Count Reporting:
Following translation completion, kindly provide the
Total Word Count (TWC)/Character Count excluding
names, places, entities, numbers, or addresses, which
should remain in their
original format. Special characters, if applicable, should
be included in the count.
