Details of the project: We are seeking a highly skilled JPN-EN translator to join our team. As a JPN-EN Translator, you will be responsible for translating a wide range of documents from Japanese to English and vice versa.
Your role will be crucial in facilitating effective communication between our company and Japanese-speaking clients, ensuring accurate and high-quality translations.
Responsibilities:
Translate various types of documents, including but not limited to: business correspondence, legal documents, marketing materials, technical documents, and reports.
Ensure accurate and faithful translations, maintaining the style, tone, and context of the original text.
Conduct research and reference checks to ensure terminology and technical accuracy.
Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to clarify context and resolve translation queries.
Proofread and edit translated documents for quality assurance.
Maintain translation memory and terminology databases for consistency and efficiency.
Meet project deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Stay updated with industry trends and developments in translation techniques and tools.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a JPN-EN Translator, with a strong portfolio of successful translations.
Native-level proficiency in both Japanese and English languages.
Excellent knowledge of Japanese and English grammar, syntax, and vocabulary.
Deep understanding of Japanese culture, customs, and idiomatic expressions.
Familiarity with specialized terminology in various fields, such as legal, technical, medical, or business.
Proficient in using translation software and tools (CAT tools).
Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant certification (e.g., JLPT, NAATI) is a plus.
