Details of the project: • Responsible for reviewing and grading translation tests performed by Flemish freelance subtitlers who want to join our talent pool.
• Act as a go-to expert in Flemish-related consultations.
• Occasionally review top-priority content, assess translation quality, and participate in root cause analysis and issue prevention.
• Occasionally perform linguistic and functional QA on Flemish content to ensure a high-quality localized experience.
• Occasional collaboration with stakeholders across the organization to produce high impact/sensitivity Flemish localization guidelines.
Must have:
• Native Flemish linguist ideally based in-country.
• Professional fluency in the English language.
• Notable subtitling, localization, and linguistic QA experience in the media & entertainment space, with a minimum of 05 years of experience as a professional translator.
• Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors as well as a keen eye for terminology and style consistency.
• Broad general knowledge base and strong research skills, including an understanding of pop culture, slang, and ever-evolving social attitudes both in English-speaking countries and your own country.
• Ability to navigate complex translation challenges and clearly communicate trade-offs in ambiguous scenarios.
• Experience providing written feedback constructively and respectfully.
• Ability to manage and prioritize ongoing jobs and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Deep understanding of language sensitivities around Inclusion & Diversity topics.

Special requirements to the applicants: Nice to have:
• Expertise in SDH, dubbing, audio description, and technical aspects of media content localization are a big plus.
Job Location: Remote.
Time frame: One time - 10-30 tests: it will be on demand, when new tests arrive, they will receive a notification and will need to check 5 minutes clips to decide if the translator pass or fail the test.
Payment: per test, they will check (TBD).
Special note: as part of the onboarding process, you will be required to do a simple background check.
