We are looking at resources for the transcreation of social media content. Below are some details:
Purpose of the initiative:
Standardize social content to make educational tips and community building accessible across markets.
Personal / Audience / Target Group (customizable): External - Creators & Artists
The tone of Voice & Style (customizable): Informal friendly.
Intention:
Inspire, educate, support, and empower.
Creative liberty:
How much freedom does a linguist have when deviating from the source input, e.g., by amplifying, enriching,
reducing and even replacing concepts/messaging to best resonate with local audiences or markets.
Legal sensitivity:
Not legally sensitive
Linguist's ability:
Awareness of Google and YouTube brands, and their values.
Also, follow the below criteria: 1-2 years of transcreation experience such as transcreation of social media content, mobile apps, or video subtitling.
Familiarity with social media and slang used on the internet and chat.
Knowledge of native beliefs, values, culture, dialects, business expressions, and sensitivities.
Linguistic skills to preserve as much as possible, or preferably add to idiomatic expressions and humor used in
the source.
An understanding of marketing content and the ability to identify the communication objective – to entertain,
inspire, educate, or convince along with the ability to adapt to various styles as per the need.
Ability to establish emotional connections between the audience and the message, and maximize cultural relevance
Aptitude to write persuasive copy in native language taking a cue from the source.
Capability to cut the clutter and make the translation as crisp as possible.
