Special requirements to the applicants: o Native or bilingual speaker of the target language or dialect who has a speaking proficiency equivalent to that of an educated native speaker and has complete fluency in the language, such that speech on all levels is fully accepted by educated native speakers in all of its features, including breadth of vocabulary, idiom, colloquialisms, cultural references, and familiarity with variants within the language.
o Proven record of editorial and proofreading work in native language.
o Full working fluency of the English language.
o Subtitling primarily involves adapting dialogue to a condensed written format and as such, differs from other types of translation. LQA reviewers should have a proven professional record of delivering impeccable work in both any translation field for a minimum of five years and subtitling for two.
o Intimate knowledge of subtitling conventions (condensing, reading speed, etc.), both general as well as own language trends.
o Thorough understanding of and ability to comply with Netflix Timed Text Style Guides.
o Familiarity with subtitling software, e.g. EZTitles, Spot, WinCaps, Netflix Originator.
o Proactive research and fact-checking to confirm validity of errors, error codes and error severity.
o Impartiality and acceptance of different translation choices when contextually, artistically appropriate.
o Previous experience in large scale linguistic and quality evaluation programs is a plus. Currently do not work on Netflix directly or from any agencies.
o Possessing a thorough comprehension of Korean as their secondary or tertiary language, including linguistic nuances and cultural references.
