Details of the project: One of the projects we are engaged in aims to localize high volume texts, with machine translation plus human post editing. The project has already started, and it continues from end of March to May.
"Post-editing" is similar to traditional translation work, but we use MT (machine translation) to get a semi-complete translation, and translators must edit and improve it to a better translation. Due to time constraints and project volume, we must handle it in this way, by using a machine translation. Your job is, therefore, to post-edit/proofread "machine translated texts" (from English into Chinese Simplified).
Special requirements to the applicants: Requirements:
For these positions, you are looking for people who
1) have good understanding of English and Simplified Chinse.
2) New or novice translators are welcome.
3) own a computer (Mac or PC or Unix) that runs a tool called "memsource Editor"
Conditions:
- Pay: $0.04-$0.16 per segment
- Again, you will be working very intensively during April to May.
- This position is for freelancer or part-time status.
- After this project, you will be qualified to work on other types of translation and localization project with us.
