Details of the project: Vendor Management Support:
Review and evaluate projects that come back from vendors to ensure they provide satisfactory translation quality.
Act as a gatekeeper for L10n team on vendors performance, and provide feedback to Vendor Quality Manager (Zoe Lin).
Help identify and address issues when vendors do not meet our quality requirements.
Build and maintain close working relationship with their selected post-editors and/or Lingua Leads.
Answer queries, provide linguistic assistance and support to translation teams and / or Lingua Lead.
Provide regular trainings to Lingua Leads for product knowledge and new features, and coordinate training schedule and requirements with Vendor Management Team in San Jose.
Help newly selected Lingua Lead(s) and post-editors get up to the speed on PayPal style and terminology.
Have periodical conference calls with Lingua Lead.
L10n Vendor Quality Manager should be CCed on all issues.

L10n Process Support:
Act as central point of contact for all language-specific matters.
Act as liaison between L10n and BUs.
Engage L10n on country-specific requests.
Coordinate and support internal and external teams on linguistic processes.
Represent L10n and evangelize L10n processes.
Support and promote L10n process to enhance L10n services to BUs.
Provide L10n translation support as needed.
Serve as "editor", or final reviewer to ensure consistency between original and translated content.
Perform sanity check on legal translations when there is no local legal counsel; implement translation review changes provided by a local legal counsel.


Translation Quality Assurance:
Work with in-country offices to define tone and voice of content, and ensure they are properly adopted across different content types.
Work with Content Managers and BU to identify product language requirements and to define terminology and localized brand names for new products and features.
Create and maintain Style Guide; and solicit input from Content Managers and BUs.
Ensure Glossaries, Style Guide, and quality standards are adhered to across all content.
Deliver and maintain good language quality for the site.
Conduct quality improvement projects as needed (e.g. Top 200 page/Top 100 Email review)
Assist I18n Engineer by providing solutions and workarounds for problematic coding practices, translated text expanding issues, and UI design.
Support L10N bug fixers on language-specific questions; conduct linguistic bug fix or global change when needed.
Communicate linguistic related information/changes to LQA/IQM counterpart.
Act as a point of contact, support and supervise PayPal-related content on local eBay site; make sure the shared terminology between eBay and PayPal is consistent.

Translation Tool/Machine Translation Management: [As applicable]
Manage and maintain glossaries and keep them up-to-date.
Manage all aspects of Translation Memories and perform regular clean-up.
Provide support to Machine Translation engine customization and maintenance (if applicable):
o Update the machine translation dictionary.
o Fill out scorecard to evaluate MT results for metrics purposes.
Work with MT Specialists on trainings to post-editors.

Locale Related BU Support (SLA):
Support local projects by consulting with local Content, QA, Product Management, and UI Design teams and supporting them during spec phase.
Identify L10n process and linguist issues and ensure they are properly addressed.
Support locally adapted Product and Marketing Content projects such as newsletters and on-site campaigns with linguistic and terminology review.
Act as a consultant during spec adaptation.
Take necessary actions to ensure suggested translations (by BU) are applied to actual files.

Job Requirements
Candidate must be a native speaker of target language with (near) native fluency in English and excellent proficiency in standard written Thai
Minimum 5 years of localization experience from US English into target language.
Experience creating and maintaining a style guide
Experience creating and maintaining terminology lists and glossaries
Experience translating HTML files
Experience in banking, general business, e-commerce, marketing, financial and Internet technology translation is required.
Experience with legal translations is a plus.
Familiarity with Idiom Desktop Workbench, SDL, Trados, XML and HTML.
Must have work permit.

We will pay for this job 30 EUR per hour
