STP is a ISO 17100-certified company with a strong niche position and reputation as a reliable and service-minded provider of high-quality translation and localisation services mainly between Danish, Finnish, German, Icelandic, Norwegian, Swedish and English. We are currently over 70 staff and translate a combined 55+ million words a year for other translation companies around the world. In 2013, we acquired Simply English, who specialise in into-English translations. At present, the majority of STP’s into-English work involves translation from European languages, and mainly the Nordics, but we are confidently building up our resources to meet more demand for translation from the Asian languages, in particular Japanese and Chinese.
Our in-house translators are all high-calibre linguists, typically educated to MA level. They work in a supportive peer environment with excellent and extensive technical and linguistic resources at their disposal and translate, revise and edit a wide range of text types.
Our in-house translators handle approximately one third of our language work. We supplement their capacity with a closely affiliated group of core freelancers with a similar background and skill set. For STP it has always been an important business philosophy to really identify with and support our freelance translators, something we have often been praised for.
Like our translators, nearly all our project managers are graduate linguists, many of them with hands-on translating experience. Their excellent communication skills, technical and human resource management are critical to the smooth running of STP's 10,000+ translation projects a year.
