I am not only a translator, but also a writer and journalist with a long (about 30 years) and satisfying experience in the three professions (which, of course, are close to one another). Did some copywriting and publicity as well. Appart from the pair English-Spanish I also translate in the pair Hebrew-Spanish. In those two pairs of languages (and sometimes in French-Spanish), I translated more than a dozen books (one of them published in Spain by the prestigious publishing house SIRUELA and also in Mexico. The rest was published by the big Spanish publishing house PLANETA). Also translated comics (“Conan the Barbarian”) and lots of articles. In the translation field, I was as well the head of a team of translators for above mentioned Spanish PLANETA publishing house, and in that job did a lot of proofreading. So, I am monolingual in Spanish. And must say I do "proofreading" when I read books badly translated into Spanish. And of course newspapers. I also wrote a book on Jerusalem (published in Spain by Italian MONDADORI publishing house, under the local name of Montena), as well as hundreds if not thousands of articles, reports and feature stories as a journalist. And last but not least, I was part of a team that produced a dictionary English-Spanish and Spanish-English for big British/American COLLIER MACMILLAN publishing house. In GOOGLE there are many items under my name -Beatriz Oberländer- in English, Spanish and Hebrew. I was born in Uruguay (where I am now again), and lived and worked both in Madrid (for 12 years) and in Jerusalem (for some more). Therefore, I can translate into European as well as Latin American Spanish.
