My name is Everton Queiros, I'm Brazilian, 20 years old, having a Certificate of Advanced English Level attended in London, England. I'm also an English Teacher and came to this website to look for opportunities in the translations area.

See, every day whenever I'm watching TV or on my PC I find errors in unsuccessful translations from English to Portuguese. As I'm typing right now I can see an ad on the bottom of my screen that is incorrectly translated into Portuguese, it says (now translating from this pathetic Portuguese into English) "57 year old woman looks AT a 27 year old woman", while it was, of course, supposed to mean "57 year old woman looks like a 27 year old woman"

Watching TV I notice the most horrifying translations on American TV shows with subtitles, like the unfamiliarity with the culture, such as the slang "hood" being in the case related to the African American slang for ghettos, being actually translated as the word hood which stands for the piece of clothing you put over your head when you are wearing, for example, a jacket.

I'm 100% sure I can do such translations, English-Portuguese successfully almost without any margin of error
