A localization professional with 8.5 years of Solid Experience as Technical Translator and 4 years of Freelance Translation. Localization/Translation: During this period I have involved in Localization of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other Red Hat products, Free and Open Source Products like Gnome, KDE, Fedora, LibreOffice, OpenOffice, Firefox etc. I have also coordinated Kannada Translation team for above mentioned Open Source projects. Translated about 2,000,000 words so far Testing/QE: Testing and reporting the issues related to Localization (L10N) and Internationalization (I18N) for different releases of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora Linux; Publications/Editing: Wrote articles about Science and also Free and Open Source Software products in Kannada which got published in both print and on-line media. I was in the editorial board of an yearly science & technology magazine in Kannada called "Kanada" for about 3 years. Posted blogs in English related to Localization Team's activities in the internal blog portal or Red Hat. Glossary Standardization: Actively participated in FUEL (Frequently Used Entries in Localization) project which aims towards building the consensus among the users and Free and Open Source Community to bring standardization in Localized applications by creating glossaries of frequently used entries for Linux Operating Systems, Mobile applications and Websites. Initiated a Special Interest Group called "Source String Contextualization" to help the translators by adding relevant contextual information for the ambiguous source strings of applications of Fedora, a Linux distribution. I was responsible in creating guidelines document and implementing it to 3 applications. Fast learning, self-driven, detail-oriented and curious person who knows very well on how to prioritize the tasks.
