I am a native speaker of Italian, fluent in English and Spanish and fairly fluent in Russian. I hold a BA in English and Spanish Languages and Literatures; an MA (with honours) in Languages, Literatures and Intercultural Dynamics and another MA in Post-Colonial Translation: fiction, no-fiction, theatre and cinema. I also hold the DITALS certification to teach Italian as a foreign language. During the years I worked on different kinds of translations. I mainly translated for: - The Italian Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted (NGO): localization of devices for the Italian market; translation of manuals and contracts; interpreting during business meetings, conferences and working group meetings (these are the countries I travelled to as an interpreter: Belgium, Bulgaria, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Kenya, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey). - The Canadian Embassy in Rome: translation of speeches, letters, guidelines, web-site contents. - Journals: translation of literature, articles about economy and politics and book reviews. - Piemme (Mondadori) publishing house: translation of two novels, Dipika Rai’s Someone Else’s Garden; Ruiyan Xu’s The Lost and Forgotten Languages of Shanghai (both published). I am a sworn translator and interpreter in the High Court of South Africa (ENITA). I use SDL Trados 2017 and I am looking forward to further expanding my knowledge of CAT-tools.
