Details of the project: Sprung Language Solutions is a translation agency based in New York, and we are actively recruiting for English-into Icelandic individual freelance translators and editors with experience working with medical device IFUs.
I was wondering if you might be interested in translating for us and if not recommend someone who can fill our requirements.
Special requirements to the applicants: In order to qualify a candidate to work with us, we need an updated CV (written in English) that demonstrates that the candidate meets one of the following three requirements:
• master's degree in language, 3+ yrs translation experience, and 3+ yrs related work experience (doctor, nurse, surgeon, regulatory affairs, device R&D, etc.), OR
• master's degree in medicine/scientific field, and 3+ yrs translation experience, OR
• bachelor's degree, 5+ yrs translation experience, and demonstrated focus on translating for the medical industries
Once we have screened the CV, we will ask the candidate to sign a non-disclosure/confidentiality agreement and provide some professional references who can attest to his/her translation ability. After that, we will release a short (<250 words) test. We know taking a test may present problems for some applicants, as they have “been burned” by a testing process before, or they feel that their experience outweighs any information that a test could possibly provide. Our clients have rigorous quality systems, and they expect our quality system to be just as rigorous. Testing is required for all medical translation candidates. Please rest assured that samples will not be resold to clients.
Our payment terms are net 30 from the date of invoice. We are aware of the issues surrounding vendor payment in the industry, and we have worked very hard to maintain a favorable reputation for paying on-time. Public feedback on forums like proz.com and translatorscafe.com supports this - most people will still know us by our old company name, TippingSprung.
Rates are always negotiable.

Modern engines have to deal with a lot of vibrations. That’s why new engines are equipped with new technology such as OAP’s (Overrunning Alternator Pulleys) and TVD’s (Torsional Vibration Dampers) (See also our TB039 and 040).
These parts are handling the severe vibrations in the accessory belt drive system, and are wear parts.
Because of that, it makes sense that OAP’s and TVD’s are inspected regularly and we recommend replacing them together with the Micro-V® XF belt in order to avoid premature failures. If the TVD or OAP does not function anymore, this will lead to other problems in the drive system.
Different failures of this tensioner have led to garage visits where the reason of the early failures of this tensioner were investigated. During the examinations, the malfunction of the OAP was proven. The OAP not working properly anymore leads to abnormal belt vibrations, causing the tensioner bracket to be affected by material fatigue; leading to rupture (Fig. 1 and 2)

Softitler a division of Deluxe Digital Studios, a
Hollywood-based subtitling company, is always in need of
translators and proofers to join its freelance network. We
provide subtitling and captioning services to major Hollywood
film studios for DVD releases in 45 plus languages. Please

Currently, we are in urgent need of qualified Indonesian,
Malay, Thai and Tagalog, based in Canada or USA, Cantonese and
Vietnamese based in Montreal, and KAZAKH, Icelandic, Danish,
Estonian and Norwegian based in their native countries. The
translations are always done from English to other languages.
Preference will be given to translators having a fast internet
connection like a DSL or Cable.
Please enter your mother tongue as subject line reference and
send your latest CV to include mother tongue, country of
primary education, other education and relevant work
experience in .doc or .rtf format to for
an application and a short translation test. Once your
application and test is approved we'll offer our rates for
your acceptance. You will then be included in our assignment
rotation. You may be aware that DVDs are released for every
movie now-a-days!
