You will be working as part of a team of highly experienced and knowledgeable translators, learning all of the basic skills of this profession. All of your work will be revised by proofreaders, who will provide you with feedback on the quality of your work. Typical activities will include:
• Professional terminology research
• Maintenance of databases
• Translation work from German/Dutch into English and vice versa
• Proofreading
• Editing
• Professional training and then working with computer aided translation tools (SDL, Trados, Across, MemoQ, Wordfast etc.) by experienced tutors
Special requirements to the applicants: The successful person for the job will:
• Have a Masters in Translation Studies covering technical, scientific and commercial subjects
• Have C2 language levels (Mastery or proficiency level)
• Possess a very good command of English, German and French
• Have a cultural and political understanding of Germany, France and England as well as the broader European community
• Be a frequent user of internet services and have familiarity with MS Office
• Be a proactive, confident team-player
• Enjoy working in a multicultural and dynamic environment
• Be highly-motivated, flexible and able to work with tight deadlines
• Have an unrestricted right to work, live and travel in Europe
